It’s time to say Happy Easter to all! Join the Diving Rebels for unlimited shore diving, fun and camaraderie at Tyler State Park in beautiful East Texas. The club has reserved 2 lovely campsites in the highly-sought after Lakeview campsites on the shore of the lake!
Details: Campsite #207 is available for Thursday night through Sunday for anyone who wants to arrive early to enjoy the park when it is more peaceful. Site #214 is reserved for Friday & Saturday nights. It has waterfront access with easy entry for diving. Tyler State Park Map
Park Entry: Each person is responsible for park entry fees. They strongly recommend obtaining day pass on line prior to arrival to guarantee entry. Go to Reserve America
Food & Drink: Bring your own refreshments and shareable delights. (Discretion is necessary for certain beverages.) We plan to have a meal share for Saturday dinner, the club will be providing a brisket dinner, please bring a potluck side and Sunday breakfast will be continental with coffee. Sites have electricity and water for preparing your other meals.
Saturday Events: We’ve made plans to participate with the Scubadillos in a U/W Easter Egg Hunt (with prizes) at the swim beach. This will start en-masse at approximately 2pm, followed by prize awarding at nearby day use area. Then, Rebels will have dinner at Lakeview campsites around 4pm. Afterwards, Scubadillos will join us for dessert and reverie.
Dive Conditions: This time of year the lake is still cool but warmer than deep lakes, Tyler lake is barely 20+ feet deep, but a 3 mill full wetsuit is recommended. Scuba Steve's has airfills a short 12 mile drive into town. The visibility can vary based on rain but generally pretty good and is populate with a lot of bass, turtles and other aquatic life.
