Question 6 --   Can I sublease tables?
Question 7 --   How do you define COMMERCIAL versus CLUB versus INDIVIDUAL?
Question 8 --   What about RAFFLE PRIZE DONATIONS?

Question 1 –   Do  I  need to bring my own tables and displays?

Answer:  1     The Club raises funds by selling spaces which include one table and additional tables may be obtained for $10.  Please bring your own popup shades and displays.   If you think you may need additional space for display and sale of merchandise, please reserve additional space.

Question 2 --    Can I stack merchandise in front of my table so people can see it better?

Answer 2    -- The walkways may get very crowded and excessive merchandise in front of tables/spaces makes matters worse. Please try to use restraint and good judgment when placing merchandise in the walkways.

Question 3 -- Can I use my table to distribute information about a SALE at my store?

Answer 3  -- Any effort to get the public attending this event to go somewhere else would  clearly not serve the intent of the swap meet and would be unfair to others at the event.  We want people attending this event to spend their money at the swap meet and go home happy.  Please refrain from advertising a same day sale at another location on the same day of the swap meet.  If you have concerns or questions about this subject, please contact us before the swap meet.

Question 4 -- What should I do if I encounter problems like theft or disorderly conduct?

Answer 4  -- The dive club cannot be responsible for theft.  Contact any Rebel member if you need help.

Question 5 -- What time of the day should I plan to pack the few items I haven't sold and leave?

Answer 5  -- The SCUBA GEAR SWAP MEET is officially closed to the public at  3:00 PM.  As this is only the 2nd time the Swap Meet has been held, the traffic to the swap meet is unknown and there may still be people coming up to 3:00 PM.  Vendors leaving early tend to disrupt the event.  This is a little unfair to the people that come late and the remaining vendors who are trying to serve these customers.  We ask you to keep your table(s)/space(s) open until 3:15 PM if possible.  If you have sold all your merchandise early and "have no reason to stay", we suggest using the time to meet-n-greet the public to introduce your shop / organization.

Question 6 -- Can I sublease tables?

Answer 8  -- No.  If you know someone that needs a table at the market, please have them contact the Swap Meet coordinator for a reservation.

Question 7 -- How do you define COMMERCIAL versus CLUB versus INDIVIDUAL?

Answer 7  -- Some interpretation is needed since all participants aren’t created equal.  The following definitions will apply for the SCUBA GEAR SWAP MEET:

COMMERCIAL:  Everyone that doesn’t qualify as a club or individual.

CLUB:  Any organized dive club with a formal charter, scheduled meetings, and established membership.

INDIVIDUAL:  Individual person or one family with personal merchandise to sell.  This does not include any merchandise bought with the intent to resale.

THE ACID TEST: -- Was the merchandise purchased for your personal use and are you now
selling it because you want to·upgrade, you’re quitting the sport, it no longer
fits, etc.?· Are you trying to make a profit or trying to recoup monies?

I know this is confusing in some cases.  Please contact the coordinator for clarification.  We are trying to treat everyone the same and be fair to all.

Question 8 -- What about RAFFLE PRIZE DONATIONS?

Answer 8 -- Raffle prize donations are much appreciated, but they are always OPTIONAL.  Please see the Exhibitor Application for more details on how your business can benefit from donating a raffle prize.

Drawings will be conducted based on the number of raffle prizes donated and spread throughout the event.   Your business will be recognized for raffle prizes you donate as they are given away.

We look forward to seeing you and wish you a fun, successful day.

2nd Annual DFW AREA SCUBA GEAR SWAP MEET

The DIVING REBELS SCUBA CLUB will hold the 2nd DFW Area Scuba Gear Swap Meet  on Saturday, October 18, 2014.  We hope to eventually rival the Houston Area Market as this event grows in the future and divers shop USED equipment and other diving accessories at YOUR table. Exhibitors at the swap meet will include dive shops, individuals, clubs and other dive related organizations.  This provides an opportunity for dive shops to move new and used gear, advertise trips and classes and for dive clubs to promote themselves, and for individuals to sell used equipment.
